| Aileen Bassis Four Notebooks/Italian Lives In the Fall of 2016, I was invited to spend a month at the Sabinarti Cultural Association, an artist residency in a small mountain town in the Sabine hills of central Italy. My project was to make some unique artists books about lifelong residents of this small town. With the help of a translator, I interviewed and photographed several men and women. I found a trove of old school notebooks (quaderni) that I scanned and incorporated into these books. |
