| Aileen Bassis "Public Faces / Private Lives" |
| This was installed at the Institute for Community Research Gallery, Hartford, CT as part of the exhibition, "Living Spaces." The installation began on a wall of the gallery space, continued down a narrow hall and ended in an alcove, under a stairway. The subject is the changed environment of post-9/11 America -- at war, threatened and insecure. The medium: photocopy transfer prints from my original black and white photos. The images are all layered with a print on tracing paper over a print on drawing paper and added pencil. |
